Privacy Policy

Your documents belong to you. This policy explains how PDF Reader handles files, permissions and information.

Effective date: September 26, 2026
Last updated: September 26, 2026

Oscillion Software Services LLP ("Oscillion", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Reader - Viewer & Scanner ("PDF Reader", the "App") handles information when you use the application.

PDF Reader is designed as a document utility for opening, reading, scanning, organizing, annotating, signing and managing PDF documents.

Privacy-first design: The core PDF Reader experience does not require an account. Documents are intended to be processed locally on your device whenever supported by the selected feature.

1. Information We Collect

PDF Reader is designed to work primarily on your device. You do not need to create an account or sign in to use the core PDF reading functionality.

Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may access files, images or device capabilities necessary to perform the requested operation.

2. Files and Documents

PDF Reader may access PDF files and other supported documents that you explicitly select, open or share with the App.

This access may be used for features including:

  • Opening and reading PDF documents
  • Searching within documents
  • Managing and organizing PDFs
  • Adding bookmarks
  • Adding annotations and notes
  • Signing documents
  • Merging PDF documents
  • Splitting PDF documents
  • Compressing PDF documents
  • Rotating or reorganizing pages
  • Creating new PDF documents

Documents are accessed for the purpose of providing the functionality you request.

Oscillion Software Services LLP does not sell your PDF documents or their contents.

3. Camera Access

If you use document scanning features, PDF Reader may request access to your device's camera.

Camera access is used to capture documents and convert captured images into PDF files or perform related document-processing operations.

The App does not use your camera in the background for advertising or unrelated purposes.

4. Photos and Images

Features such as Images to PDF, adding images to documents or creating scanned documents may require access to images you select.

PDF Reader accesses selected images only as necessary to perform the action you request, subject to your device's permissions and file-selection mechanisms.

5. Local App Data

PDF Reader may store certain information locally on your device to provide application functionality.

This may include:

  • Recently opened documents
  • Favorite documents
  • Bookmarks
  • Reading position and progress
  • App preferences
  • Annotations and notes
  • Saved signatures
  • Document-processing preferences

This information is used to provide and maintain functionality within the App.

6. Device Permissions

Depending on your device, Android version and the features you use, PDF Reader may request access for:

  • Camera functionality
  • Selecting files and documents
  • Selecting photos or images
  • Opening PDFs from other applications
  • Saving generated or modified documents
  • Sharing documents
  • Printing documents

Permissions are requested only when required for supported App functionality.

You can review or change permissions at any time through your device settings.

7. Advertising

PDF Reader is currently designed without third-party advertising.

We do not use the contents of your documents to personalize advertisements.

8. User Accounts

An account is not required to use the core PDF Reader functionality.

If account-based, synchronization or cloud features are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain how those features handle information.

9. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App may use technical diagnostics or crash-reporting functionality if such services are included in a released version.

Where these services collect information from your device, applicable data practices will be disclosed through this Privacy Policy and the relevant app-store disclosures.

We do not intentionally use the contents of your documents for analytics.

10. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information or the contents of your PDF documents.

Information or documents may be provided to another application or service when you explicitly initiate an action such as sharing, printing, exporting or opening a document with another service.

We may also disclose information when required to comply with applicable law, legal process or enforceable governmental requests.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by the App.

However, no device, software application, storage system or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and sensitive documents stored on those devices.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored locally by PDF Reader generally remains on your device until you remove it, clear applicable App data, use an available clear/delete function or uninstall the App.

Documents that you create, export or save outside the App may remain on your device after the App is uninstalled. Those files can be deleted through your device's file-management functionality.

If future versions introduce server-side accounts, synchronization or cloud storage, this Privacy Policy will be updated with applicable retention and deletion procedures.

13. Children's Privacy

PDF Reader is a general-purpose document utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward young children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising purposes.

Our handling of information is subject to applicable laws and app-store requirements for the audiences to which the App is made available.

14. Third-Party Services

Certain actions initiated by you may interact with third-party applications or services. Examples include sharing, printing, importing, exporting or opening documents using another application.

Independent third-party services operate according to their own privacy policies and terms.

If we integrate additional third-party SDKs or services into PDF Reader, we may update this Privacy Policy to reflect those integrations and their applicable data practices.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PDF Reader's functionality, data practices, technologies or legal requirements change.

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the Last updated date displayed at the beginning of this page will be revised.

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
